at that time he was still on his mission, but before the game started as I was introducing myself to the coaches around me and I found out he coached at Laguna, we talked about Sedgwick through most of the 1st quarter until we were forced to move for cover from the rain.
He was very impressed with Sedgwick as a quality kid, said he was probably the smartest football player he ever coached, I think he said he had a 4.0 in HS.
I assume you mean he is having academic issues, I would guess if anything he would be quitting to focus more on his academics over football based on what I heard from his coach, sounded like this kid would have very few problems maintaining a minimum GPA for eligibility, but if he was quitting football to focus on a pre-med program, that would sound like something I could believe.
