maybe because USA hosted in 1994, adding in Mexico/Canada made it more viable? I also think it's weird that it'll (potentially) be at Commonwealth stadium (holds plenty but ew... the $100M+ renovations about 6-8 years ago must've been a success), the O in Montreal (holds plenty but double ew.... they must be planning to renovate with a new roof) and BMO field (holds how many? like 25k?) but not BC Place, which held the final match when Canada hosted the Women's world cup a few years ago. Must've been a decision by BC or Vancouver to not participate.
