You know there are a lot of kids that go to Bingham instead of their home school. And that is not a criticism, I wish AF attracted kids in that manner, I’m making the point that what happens this next year in HS is not a straight up reflection of how it was in the youth leagues. And I’m not the one that got on here, a post about celebrating the accomplishments of this particular group of kids that played together growing up and posted “Oh Yea! Bingham!” We all know how good Bingham is and that they are the dominant HS football program in this state. So I could say the same thing to you, the fact that multiple kids from one grade in the AF program has college athletic offers is “no threat” to Bingham.

But back to my point about it changing from how it was as a youth team. For instance one of the kids that has a BYU offer, Ethan Erickson, moved to Hawaii with his family a couple of years ago and plays for Kahuku, he does not play for AFHS. One of the 5 I mentioned, the one with basketball offers, no longer plays football, only basketball. But both played for our team growing up and both were great players for us.

Other kids have also quit playing football or transferred to other schools. Two of our best players went to Lone Peak and another one moved to Payson. Another has injuries so severe he’ll never play football again. Stuff happens. But even so many of these kids are getting the chance to move on to the next level and I’m pretty proud of them and what they’ve done and what we did while they were growing up.
