He got his first football offer just over a week ago, Idaho State, but already has a couple of baseball offers. He actually hasn’t been the varsity starting qb yet because there was a kid a year older who was good, signed with Weber, so he’s had to wait his turn in football. But we’ve spent the last few weeks on the camp circuit and it is paying off. Got the ISU offer, although it is mission contingent meaning he has it if he goes on a mission. But he has a bunch of schools talking to him and recruiting him now. We’re hoping for more offers and are pretty sure they’ll come once the season gets going and they see him in games.
He’s very fast, especially for a qb. Ran a 4.53 and 4.58 at the Dixie camp two weeks ago then ran 4.64 and 4.67 at the Utah camp on Monday. Also one of the fastest kids at the BYU camp last week but they don’t time them, they just raced them. Then last week in Sacramento he was one of the fastest kids and there were probably 1000 kids at that camp, once again they race them but don’t time them. Lots of top recruits, all of the pac 12 schools were there except for Stanford and usc. Mike Reilly, who is back coaching at Oregon st loved him, told him he was the best qb there which he was. UCLA really liked him as well and Colorado and Washington st both are looking at him as well.
He’s a talented athlete for sure but now that he’s getting attention he needs to back it up with a great year.
