So - end of spring camp, Hoge is still behind Critchlow - who might have been providing some competition for Wilson and Mangum - but Hoge is still 4th, and Critchlow is still 3rd.

And that's with another highly rated RM QB coming home from a mission before fall camp.

So end of spring camp, what happened? And how was that interpreted by Beau? Not having been there, none of know how it was presented or what the conversation went. And it wouldn't surprise me if Beau was OK with the original conversation (or at least seemed OK with it) but was also in shock, just a little, about having to restructure some of his future plans and expectations. But then upon further consideration, maybe decided he'd still prefer to fight for the QB spot.

Honestly - I wouldn't be surprised at all if Lamb went to him and said "Beau - you are a talented and athletic guy. But you are behind some really good QB's right now. On the other hand, we're weak in a couple of other places where you could definitely contribute, add depth, and would probably see the field. As things are at QB, there are 3 guys ahead of you, and I just don't see you getting any playing time. One of those guys is a freshman, and we've got another talented freshman joining the team this summer. You are too talented to leave sitting on the bench, we want to move you to RB - where you'll be able to play."
