You only get that by letting them play it out. I don’t think Grimes is playing mind games with anyone, I just think he knows the value of making people compete for their jobs, especially guys (like Tanner) whose play last year didn’t merit them being penciled in as the starter.

I think they will name Tanner the starter because if the level of play is similar it only makes sense to do so, but I could be wrong.
