I am a head coach at a school in Utah in a sport that has cuts. We warned them when we started offseason workouts that no one was safe, and every spot was up for grabs. I had to cut 10 athletes last year. My staff and I held face to face interviews on cut day with each athlete letting them know their fate. It was tough, but I felt I owed them that much.
