what am I missing? doesn't it have to be 100%?

Pretend her ghost is climbing up the mountain 24 hours later, at the same time she is climbing down. Since they are traversing the same route just in opposite directions, then at some point (we don't know when), she will cross paths with her ghost.

Maybe I missed something in the explanation though.
