So way back in the early 80's when I was wee cougar at Provost Elementary we
would play soccer outside, and we would tend to break a window maybe once or twice a month.

After the first two, we had to end up paying for them. Everyone playing the game at the time with the person who kicked the ball having to pay half.

It got to the point that those who tended to break the windows the most...were asked to not play anymore. So when I stopped playing soccer, I turned to basketball and football.

My parents were happy because they were tired of shelling out $50+ a month for a while to replace windows.

Now, to the question. We were told first that we needed to bring money to replace the window, no notes to parents etc. It was when one of the other boys kicked the ball and was asked to shell out $25 to cover his half, his parents raised ire. It was then a letter was sent out to all of our parents.
