so the teacher wants the kids who broke the chair to fix it. No big deal.
If i was in the same situation I might do the same.

The idea that the teacher has to contact the parents about every little thing is a pet peeve of mine. If my son came home and told me that I would have just 1 question - did you break the chair because you were being irresponsible or reckless? case closed. here's $3. take it to your teacher and apologize for being a moron.
