...At first they’re brisk and refreshing and go great with fresh-from-the-oven chocolate chip cookies or Turtle Brownies and make mundane things like cold cereal spectacular. After a while, though, that carton of milk becomes less and less refreshing as it nears it’s expiration date.

Every kid remembers the time they poured milk into their cereal bowl only to find out the milk was well past it’s expiration date and that normally spectacular bowl of cereal became a hideous memory sometimes followed by wretching.

Every coach has an internal expiration date and keeping them too far past that date brings about hideous moments that can make you want to wretch.

Every carton of milk gives you warnings when they are pushing their expiration dates. It’s your own fault when you ignore them and then find out the hard way. We are catching whiffs that are becoming more and more obvious that Coach Rose is at or past his expiration date. Do we really want to keep pushing it to the point that we take a swig after it’s painfully obviously bad? Time to pour the milk out and purchase a new carton.
