world." I think it would be an outstanding achievement for BYU to have a special season where they go undefeated, and they'd clearly get into the playoff. I guess I just think that, from the perspective of the CFB world, it would be a fun/remarkable/feel-good story for a season, but I don't see how it would really shake up the CFB world. And I don't think two P5s getting blocked out of the playoff really qualifies - there's a decent chance of that happening any year that Notre Dame is good enough to get in given the SEC's profile and teams (and maybe even the B10).
I guess that kind of a special season might be an event that leads to BYU getting into a P5 conference within a few subsequent years, so maybe that could be the shake up you're talking about. But I'd still consider that localized, not game-changing. It's been done before in recent history by a couple of other teams.
I don't mean this as a slight - such a season would garner deserved national attention and praise. It would be absolutely amazing. just wondered what you meant.
