My brother married the daughter of a very wealthy physician.
His first time going out with the family, his FIL offered to pay for their food at a fast food restaurant. My brother ordered a burger, some fries, and a soda.
After ordering, my brother could tell his FIL was bothered about something.
“Everything okay?” he asked.
“Don’t you think it’s a little presumptuous to order your own soda? It’s free refills. We just order one for the family and share.”
