File an appeal. Aetna is a scam artist.
You can beat that system, but it requires work. Aetna did this to me when I was in medical school and the in network hospital didnt have any in network anesthesiologists. My wife eventually got them to cover it, but it took several letters.
Have you seen the movie Rainmaker? It's very good, but reminds me quite a bit of Aetna.
