Here's a recent example to back up the point about work.
Belk bowl 2018. UVA is matched against SEC team with equal record. Coaches propose practicing Christmas day, kids buy in, UVA wins 28-0. Finish propels them to enough early votes to now be at 18.
Practicing on Christmas day wasn't fun but the win was memorable for those players. I think it's a disservice to players to not be pushed to their potential if winning is important to them.
