You are mistaken
By keeping BYU out of the Pac12, it makes it far easier for the other Pac12 schools to skim off the top LDS talent. Several of the Pac12 teams are regularly pulling in top LDS talent that would have likely been more drawn to BYU if we were a P5 school. That is a far bigger benefit to the other schools than having a Utah school in the NC conversation.
