Your first point would apply to a 9 win coach, there is more risk there,
A .500 coach makes the gamble more palatable.
Regarding the 2nd point, if I saw evidence of player development it would be easier to accept that more time would help. The losses of Corbin and Sione are obvuous, it almost seems like players regress under this staff.
