If he were the CEO of a company but there was a very small pool of potential replacements and an even smaller pool within that pool who would even consider it. And those people in that pool are largely unproven at best and completely unqualified at worst.

I believe that Sitake with time can become a great HC, and I know that flies against conventional wisdom here, but he to become that he is going to have to learn in the trenches and that means a lot of pain for years to come.

BYU can't afford to have a coaching carousel like some of the big named programs out there, so they are forced to deal with what they've got.

I'll say this, any board of directors in this theoretical company that fired the CEO without a better replacement who had already signed a contract in hand should be summarily dismissed.

Same thing with football here. Holmoe and crew should be forced to not listen to the fans and recognize that a wrong move here could somehow make the program much much worse.

I think the shortest path the success is actually to get some highly qualified coordinators in who can help right the ship.
