It was pretty clear going into this season that bowl eligibility would buy
Sitake more time. He’s done that despite several key injuries, so he gets the extension. I don’t love his record either, but I can’t advocate for firing the guy after beating Tennessee, USC, BSU, and USU this season.
It seems the industry standard is to extend prior to the final year of the contract before recruiting timelines, so here we are. Hopefully there’s a low buyout in place in case things don’t seem to be continuing forward over the next several seasons.
