Seeing what a Chris Peterson or Kyle Whittingham can do with 3-4 star talent especially on the defensive side of the ball, I'd go that route if those were offers.  However, if my kid didn't have NFL measurables or was a 2 star kid without bigger offers, I'd have no problem sending and even pushing him to BYU. Gilford seems to be the exception of having a little bit of a track record, even with Wilcox here at BYU of coaching 2 star kids up and Dayan even when he's playing out of position. I'd love to send my kid to BYU at that position.
