I've actually been saying for a few years that I thought much of the utah fandom out there was not backed up by true fandom but instead by it being the "in" thing and because of the newness of being in the pac12 but that eventually it would wane because they aren't true fans and were just riding the wave.

I would have thought that a season like they are having would have maybe re-energized that wave of support and given them a few more years but that hasn't seemed to happen. It appears those front runners, which make up a significant portion of their fanbase, are just not going to keep going even when they have an actual on field reason to go. That's interesting to me.
