cost-conscious approach it's unlikely that they'll dominate there in the future. Autopilot isn't self-driving, it's driver assist technology.
The lifeblood of self-driving tech isn't just "data", it's good, labeled data. Tesla doesn't get that from their cars. That's why they're stuck on Level 2. A very good L2, but still L2.
The real players in the space are doing L4 tests. If Tesla is doing those as well, I'm not familiar with their efforts. But what they have out is L2.
