the high rate of turnover at the company, poor company policy/practice, their profitability problems, how big auto will soon be coming at them, international competition from both Asia and Europe, and the saturation of the US EV market.  As an aside, I think the near future is probably in hybrids rather than the pure EVs for consumers.  Pure EVs make a lot of sense for certain types of mass transit and taxis.  Long term who knows.
