...any other position we've seen numerous guys not performing get benched and next man up. In some cases we've seen former starters fall well down the depth chart to the point that they don't even see the field anymore (Thomas Shoaf for example).
I understand coaches not wanting to put the hook too quickly to QB1 when he's failing but after watching how long they stuck with Tanner Mangum when a better QB was sitting on the bench behind him I don't have a lot of confidence that our coaches are willing or have the courage to make tough decisions. Also now that Kalani has his contract extension he no longer feels the same pressure to win.
As for excuses, we've heard plenty of excuses this year for Wilson, when he struggles again next year trying to live up to his "Mormon Manziel" hype we'll certainly hear more excuses. Likely the same ones as this year (OL didn't block for him, WR's couldn't get separation, INT's aren't his fault, bad luck, poor play calling by the OC, etc)
