The point of the book is that things change and you can keep doing things the
same and suffer, or you change with the times. When Utah and TCU left, things changed drastically for BYU.
They could have stayed and be relegated to a pure g5, or try to distance themselves a bit from the g5 to stay closer to the p5s.
I don't think anyone is going to call it a success, but compared to staying in the MWC, I think the decision makers with all of the data and knowledge, would make the same decision again.
The reason it hasn't been successful has been losing to G5 teams.
