It is interesting, and it shows that BYU and ND measure success differently

ND measures success by wins, CFB playoff appearances, and other traditional on-the-field metrics.

BYU measures success by (1) $$ generated by the football program, (2) national TV appearances, and (3) avoiding negative publicity for off-the-field issues.

If BYU measured success in terms of wins/losses, BYU would adopt a completely different strategy for its football program.
