We pulled out our kids for last 2 months to home school
Mainly because we live in rural Idaho and the schools are horrible.

We are in the process of moving so we figured we would just do what we can at home until we got settled. This is what I learned..

- it’s great for athletes. Our kids got 2-3 training sessions in a day.

- I think it’s better for reading as we focused a lot on that but that’s obvious just dependent on how much they read

- we hired out math tutors. 3x a week. They learned a ton more.

- 1 of 3 kids was getting lazier. 1 of the 3 really seemed to miss the social stuff. For those 2 I wouldn’t keep our experiment up.. for another kid she seemed to do great and would do better doing it long term.. she gets annoyed by how dumb most kids are though I guess being in school makes u have to deal with that reality too.

The main reason I would do it going forward (and I might for one of our kids) would be for the athletic benefits. Plus those kids get plenty of social interaction with teams/camps, etc.
