It sounds like you are looking at the red flags of his freshman and sophomore seasons and concluding that Zach's career trajectory might not rise up to "good or great". That's a fair point if he doesn't get rid of his bad habits and improve dramatically.

You could also look at the tools and experience Zach has gained and see that it can be leveraged into a much improved junior and senior season. By all accounts, Zach's work ethic is exactly what you'd want from a team leader.

I agree that Zach's QB play particularly last season wasn't good enough. This is the season where the rubber meets the road and we'll see what we have in Zach. The good thing is there are 2 other talented QBs trying to win the spot who both should improve with a good offseason. If someone else beats out Zach, I am completely on board with the decision.
