Climbing the Middle Teton as a Teacher for high adventure. We were on the glacier near the top when one of the old
leaders with us lost his footing and his ice axe. He came sliding down very fast and took me out. I couldn't stop both of us with my ice axe. Luckily my uncle who was with us jumped on top of us and we were able to stop the three of us from sliding into the boulder field at the bottom of the glacier. That was scary.

One other story. When I was 10 or so I had a basketball hoop in my backyard with a weighted base. I was playing one day and out of the corner of my eye I saw the basketball hoop blowing over from the strong winds. I started to run and I got away with only being caught by my foot and breaking my ankle. If I hadn't seen it coming I think it would have landed on my head.
