As a 12 year old boy scout, me and some others had the not so bright idea
To use a gas can to stoke the fire and watch the gas flare up. So we took the 2.5 gallon can and began using the vent spout to shoot little streams of gas toward the fire and watch the little bursts of flame.
Soon enough that flame jumped to the gas can. You've never seen a pack of scouts run for the hills that fast. Finally a leader rounded the corner and realized what was going on and snuffed it out.
I'm hindsight we were lucky that gas can didn't explode.
