Yes. How else do you explain the rapidly moving target?
Anyone who understands exponential growth knows pretty much the exact same now as they did 7-8 days ago about how this thing would progress. Yet 7-8 days ago, schools weren’t canceled yet and gatherings were limited to <100 people. Now school is canceled, gatherings have been limited to 50, then to 10, and some governors are talking about capping at 5. Four new decisions in 8 days. Why?

What new information do we have that merits changing the guidelines? Why did we wait until midweek to close restaurants?

If the quarantine started 7 days ago, but the time between infection and exhibiting symptoms is 6-12 days, how in the world do we know that the quarantine is effective so far, and where in the world does the April 30 date come from as some critical date with some target number of new cases?

Like I appreciate that they are trying to show some leadership, but there’s really no evidence they are using data to drive their decisions. In fact there’s more evidence that data isn’t driving their decisions at all. They are pretty much just taking as cautious of an approach as they can, and hoping for a government bailout.
