Leadership is to communicate to the public what is known
And what needs to be known and how that will dictate decisions.
Governors one upping each other on who can be most tough, while communicating little basis for their decisions, are acting poorly and not in the interest of the citizenry.
Just one example: I hear governors say their #1 job is to keep the public safe. No, that is one of their jobs. It is not their #1 job - there are many ways to make life safer but they involve curtailing liberty. Why are governors saying something that is not true?
