You are right. But who are you arguing with?
I haven't heard many people claim we should go all Oprah with HCQ. Obviously, it should be prescribed from a licensed doctor. Most people are saying that it works best for cases when caught early. In that case the virus hasn't done as much damage to the body.

But it's not like this drug is as dangerous as chemotherapy. We prescribe it to healthy people to prevent getting malaria. And we know quite a bit about its side effects, although certainly not very much in regards to how it interacts with a virus that is in advanced stages. But if death seemed imminent, I'm sure we would all try it even given the risks.
