I don't think it will be a miracle cure. There are favorable and unfavorable anecdotal stories regarding the drug. There
are also medical professionals in policy making positions supporting (with qualifications) its use for both treatment and as a prophylactic.


Recognizing the lack of clinical studies, the American Thoracic Society (physicians specializing in respiratory illnesses) has suggested, as interim guidance, its use for treating COVID-19 patients. Also, the Chairman of National Advisory Commission on Rural Health has recommended the drug to not only treat patients, but also as a prophylactic to protect physicians and nurses from infection.

I don't think using hydroxycholorquine as one of the treatment options is considered voodoo medicine. However, I also think if it is prescribed to a COVID-19 patient, the patient and his/her family should be aware and notify the physician if any adverse side effects start to occur.
