No idea to be honest. It appears to be much more toxic than HCQ and was pulled way back some time ago.
It is just an example of the need for vetting.

My aunt had a minor illness and was prescribed Chloramphenicol which killed her. Other children were also killed.

Safe use is surely important. Some risks are set aside when time is of the essence, which many have felt was the case.
