Hope you stretched out properly before attempting all those gymnastics...
...Looks like a modern day left-wing media hatchet job on a conservative public figure. They make up their mind ahead of time what they want to say and then pull some data to support it and stretch it like salt water taffy to make it suit their needs.

That’s not how you do an objective analysis. The data drives where it goes despite your personal feelings that go one way or the other. You mentioned “context is everything” then you didn’t put anything into any context to support your position, so I’m going to provide the context you failed to provide.

Kalani Record Win % Conclusion
Overall 27-25 .519 Poor Record

how is .519 a poor record? That is pretty average. If you were to compare it to the career records of all the coaches currently in D-1 football you would find Kalani’s record is in the middle of the pack. That is context. You didn’t provide any.

P5 7-12 .368 Yewt Poor Record
it’s a poor record based on what? Based on what other g5 schools are doing vs p5’s? You provided no context again. All time winning pcts by g5 conferences vs p5 conferences are:
AAC .319, CUSA .188, Independent .294, MAC .167, MWC .295, Sun Belt .063, WAC .276
You said Kalani has won at a .368 clip which makes him better than the average of any g5 school vs p5 opponents, in some cases significantly better. Sorry, you let your personal bias get the better of you here again.

FBS 17-13 .567 Average Record
I’ve a feeling you’re going to be wrong here as well because I’m pretty sure that if his overall record is 27-25 and you list below that he’s won 3 games vs FCS opponents that would mean he’s played a lot more games vs FBS teams than you reflect in this critique.

FCS 3-0 1000 Expected - therefore Average
Hmmm...another one that seems to lack any context. So if going unbeaten against FCS competition is average then that would mean that every other FBS head coach has also gone undeafeated vs FCS competition. Hate to break it to you, but just in recent years (Last 10 yrs) a ton of FBS schools have lost to FCS teams Including several from p5 conferences like Georgia Tech, Kansas (3 times), Baylor, Wash ST (2 times), Iowa St (3 times), Virginia (under Bronco Mendenhall), Northwestern, Iowa (they were #13 ranked at the time), UCF, South Carolina, Kansas St, Oregon St (2 times including when they were 25th ranked), Florida, Pitt, Duke, Minnesota (2 times), Ole Miss, VaTech (13th ranked at the time)...etc etc etc. I think I’ve hammered home the point that many FBS teams each year lose to FCS schools including ranked teams and teams from p5 conferences. Those FBS teams all have head coaches who ended up being the losing coach (including Bronco Mendenhall). The fact that Kalani has NEVER lost to an FCS school puts him above the average.

I can tell you don’t like Kalani and are determined not to show any objectivity in your comments about him. I can understand where you wouldn’t think he’s a good coach or even an above average coach but if you put things into context he looks like an average g5 coach so far.
