BYU fans still have crazy expectations. The world has shifted and BYU hasn't. It's too hard to even land the top LDS talent now at the Y. The culture at BYU (and it's not knock on the LDS) is very strange to most. Kids see "normal college life" and that's what they want (or most do). BYU doesn't have the staff funds. BYU can take in non-qualifiers but for the most part you have to be smart. The advantages BYU once had are fading or are completely gone.
I think all things considered Kalani is an above average coach. It's going to take an elite coach to manage BYU's expectations IMO.
