My wife and I were fishing on a cutthroat spawning river in Utah yesterday that had just opened (second Saturday of July). Unfortunately the river was way packed prior to other years.
We were killing it for the first hour or so and then it got really quiet. Fish were not taking flies where they should be so I told my wife we must be fishing in somebody’s wake.
Sure enough, a few minutes later we come upon two dudes chucking spinners into this beautiful and small freestone river. As if that weren’t bad enough, one of them was carrying a chain with five 16-18 inch Bonnevilles on it. They literally had got there at 6 am and were pulling every trophy out of this tiny creek. I almost threw up.
