I have not been more furious about a call in a long time. I couldn't even sit
after that. And not about the head butt either, that was harmless and was flagged correctly for it. They weren't reviewing the head butt that doesn't make sense, the kid was already punished with the 15 yard penalty. The fact that the announcers were cluelessly talking about it kind of tilted me.
The part that made me furious was what you said, it goes from 3rd and 31 to 1st and 10. When you have flags on either side of a play you offset the penalties and repeat 3rd down. The problem here is that the unsportsmanlike penalty was a dead ball foul, so it happens afterwards. So if you're going to give them the first down, you have to make it 1st and 25. What makes way more sense though is to just offset the penalties like you would on live ball fouls.
