Just better or worse ones. I would focus mostly on mitigating harm, making my expectations clear, and trying to keep communications open, knowing that most kids start to mellow once they get out of that rough stretch of adolescence. I don't think there's a silver bullet to these problems, though, only that some things are likely to backfire.
