Not as serious, but one of ours started smoking and claimed he was addicted.
We did a urine test every morning for about 6 months...consequences were we'd withdraw him from school and some other stuff (very social kid). Magically, he wasn't addicted.
Hard drugs and weed are a different matter entirely, but the daily urine test wasn't hard and gave him a daily reminder and excuse to tell his friends what an a** I was and to not smoke that day.

They sell tests at Walmart. I've not used them though. My kid used off and on from 16-19 and the reality is, it's up
