Obviously that wouldn't be the case for everyone but I do think Mormon troops were very easy and kids were often getting eagles that in no way deserved it. Where I lived the non-Mormon troops were much better run and serious. We occasionally would have a family put their kid in a local non-Mormon troop because they were so fed up with the Mormon troop. But this was back east. I get the sense Mormon troops in Utah are taken much more serious.
