I can name double digit players that BYU has pulled scholarships of. This also isn't uncommon in college football. Scholarships are renewed on a year by year basis and you don't give one to players who aren't fully invested.

He should be a redshirt freshman in 2021. I think he redshirted in 2019.

He played in both 2019 and 2020. This last season won’t count against eligibility. He will be a sophomore.
