Back in 1991 (I think) I used to clean carpets all up and down SL and Utah County. It was very physical work and often at the end of the day I would stop at 7-11 and but a big gulp or a Sleeper.

At the end of one day, I was at the 7-11 at 1300 S. in SLC. I noticed a limousine in the parking lot but did not think much of it. I bought my drink and was waiting in line and i noted the guy in front of me was wearing a very nice and obviously expensive suit. I actually said something like, "Nice suit." As he turned to go out the door I looked at his face. It was Amhad Rashaad. And I stupidly blurted out, "Ahmad.". And he just said, "Yeah." I was just shocked to see him in, of all places, a 7-11 in SLC.

I sort of incredulously asked him why he was in Salt Lake City, and he replied that he was in town to interview Karl Malone, and then went on his way.
