If it were "beating CCU" I agree with you; as is, I think that's the worst
Not playing CCU means we end up just outside a NY6 with lots of unsubstantiated talk about how good BYU is/was.
Every one of those options is taking a "what could have been" mindset and wishing for the chance to see how it would have worked out, with no guarantees of the result. We believe we'd have beat Utah in 2020 or done well with Taysom in 2014. We're pretty sure we'd have won some in the 2020 NCAA tourney or with Davies. Truth is we don't know.
If we didn't play CCU, there'd be a pill here listing "took short-notice 2020 game against CCU" and it would still be one of those things we regret.
