We aren't talking about a cheap play attempting to injure him or anything. Just running at him and letting him get ridden back hard into the ground. Don't give him a chance to come at our QB.
Hans Olsen was on the radio talking about this and essentially said that the way to handle dirty/physical play is to escalate your own physicality so that players know they can't get away with it. You let them get away with it, and they'll continue the dirty play. Let them know if they go too far you're willing to match them, and they back down to an acceptable level.
No one is upset if the guy plays hard and makes good football plays - sacking the QB or TFL on the RB. It's when he starts to play dirty that it is disappointing to see the team just absorb/accept it.
