You don't even have to leave the coasts, you just need a cheap area on them
96k is living large on the Pacific coast anywhere in Oregon or Washington. As long as you aren't in the Seattle market, there are so many affordable areas on the coast. 96k would go a long way in Coos Bay.
Or the Carolina coasts. Cities are CHEAP out there.
