I don't think 4 percent is too hard.
These 10 Stocks, purchased at close of day Friday would pay you 5.21 percent in dividends. They all have payed dividends for a lot of years and have increased the dividends consistently, which would take care of inflation for the most part.

All of this without ever touching principal.

IBM
CVX
ABBV
T
PBA
ENB
EPD
MNR
IRM
GLPI

$125,000 a year. After federal capital gains tax $99,000 a year. If you move to a state that doesn't have state income tax you are living off of $8,250 a month.

Some risk but not too much.

If those 10 are too risky I could add 20 more with a lot of blue chip stocks like, JPM, JNJ, KO, LOW, MMM etc. that would get you 4.2 percent.

All without ever touching principal. Not financial advice just what I would do.
