That is why I put 4% in my post which was the basis for OP.
8% average should be a more realistic target for a retirement fund. You will of course have to be prepared to not withdraw some years and over withdraw in other years to take profits and move them into a more stable, lower interest investment.

What will $96K be in 30 years? Most likely it will be equivalent to $50K or a little less in today's dollars
