From my perspective, the article is pretty balanced. Includes some comments from a researcher who did a study of adults who transitioned, and found that a year of hormone therapy didn't close the gap entirely.
The article includes cogent comments from people with informed, but varying stances on the issue of transgender women competing in women's sports. I found it interesting, perhaps even compelling, that the researcher concluded more constraints are required at the adult professional level--Olympics, college sports. Perhaps a two-year hormone therapy requirement, rather than the current one year requirement. But he also feels that at a community, youth level, the differences would be less, and that it doesn't make sense to prevent trans girls/young women from competing in girls' competitions.
